Caribbean Waterpark And Resotel In Goldenfields

A spur of the moment decision led April and I to this new resort in Bacolod’s fading entertainment capital, the Goldenfields Commercial Complex. Going to the park was no problem. You just can’t miss its inviting exterior among the surrounding restaurants and bars. Having nothing to do, we thought a peek inside the faux wood and stone walls with the colorful flaglets would make our day less boring. So, we approached the reception desk and was greeted by a pop-out pirate in a barrel. We paid the P100 entrance fee which allows the free use of umbrellas, tables and chairs and lets you swim all you can! Unfortunately for us, we didn’t have any swimming gear and although we were yearning to dive into the gigantic pool and try the twisting slides, we just had to be content with taking pictures and enjoying the cold breeze (it was raining at that time).

We didn’t get to take pictures as much as we would have liked, though. The camera’s battery was critically low (from the previous night). Even so, we still managed to snap some tolerable shots.

Hearing the occasional splash from the slides, we truly regretted not bringing our suits. Eventhough we couldn’t get wet, we enjoyed crossing the bridges and gazing at the sunken pirate ship and the lighthouse in the middle of the pool.

This presents kids (and grownups, too) with the opportunity to play underwater hide-and-seek or just claim their own little corner in the pool. The waterpark has an aesthetic appeal which can’t be found in any other pools in Bacolod. Be a kid again and enjoy the simple pleasures of this convenient getaway in the city. For information on accommodation and amenities, visit the park’s official website.

After we drained the camera’s battery taking pictures, we tried to win tickets at the World of Fun (WoF) in SM (April was collecting them for a Barney stuffed toy to give to her nephew). After that, we had dinner at Bacolod Chicken House which, in my opinion, is still the best place (besides the eateries at Manokan Country) to eat chicken inasal.
